day and night 19: the drive home
for a lot of reasons i won’t go into we have this 6 day hole in our tour. this put us in the position for a really really crappy drive. here’s how it went.
from 12:30 am to 8:30 am i drove from tallahassee to fayetteville, nc. it was a nice night drive and i got to see an awesome sunrise which kind of made it worth it. the boys slept the best they could and i listened to a book on tape and all was well. “guards! guards!” by terry pratchette. it’s a little nerdy i know but i love me some discworld books.
danimal takes over and i immediately pass out till about 2 i think. wkoe up in richmond, took a wizz, then passed out again. justin takes the last leg and i wake up just in time to take the “pennsylvania welcomes you” photo. we hit some stupid philly traffic, which is always inevitable, but finally arrive at royersford, pa.
i hop in my car, gas up, then drive what seemed like an endless amount of time back to johnstown and arrive somewhere around 11 that night. it was epic to say the least but totally worth it to be home in time for bowling.
the next week should be filled with resting and catching up on all the band work that you just can’t do while you’re on the road. and bowling…god i can’t wait for bowling.
i’ll see you in a week. thanks for reading this stuff.
