day 9 the cave chapel hill, nc
i feel like i finally got some rest today. my buddy scott gave me a warm welcome with some of his homemade beer and then a trip to the hot tub to fix some back problems i’m dealing with. i’m definitely spoiled when i visit raleigh…few touring dudes are lucky enough to get a hot tub, great beer, and a super comfy couch to sleep on.
we get to the cave around six thirty, just as a huge snow storm begins to pelt the raleigh area with sleet, snow, and ice (yea all three…awesome.) it was fun to watch all of the born-and-raised southerners freak out about the snow…it’s like it was the end of the world or something. justin said it best when he was on stage: “this is nothing. in pennsylvania, we call this rain.”
the show goes great. the headliner cancelled and the tunrout was a little weak because of the weather but nontheless t&t killed it. also got to meet mouse, the owner of the cave, and he was just great as well as the rest of the staff.
i played alright, which was good. typically i screw up whenever there’s a crowd so it’s always nice when i don’t. also chris “the general” jones made an appearace and it’s always amazing to see him. he is hands down one of the greatest humans on the planet. please do me a personal favor and check his music out at: myspace.com/devilsridinghorse
to end the night “blood red river” played and were great. imagine super tight surf/rockabilly loud as hell…check em out: myspace.com/bloodredriver
justin got us back to scotts house safe and sound and we all immediately went to sleep…our bodies hate us.
