“some days you just feel like the rubber duck in the piss trough”
day 7  shamrocks pub  Huntington, WV
woke up bright and early at my old friend ians house and i feel great for some reason…no hangover…wide awake…ready to go.
we hit the road for our 7 hour drive to huntington.  with the exception of one coffee stop and a few piss breaks, we’re pretty much in the car for the entire day.  in most scenarios this would be pretty terrible but:
1.  we had my copy of a revival tour bootleg from last year to listen to.  this thing is 66 tracks and about five hours long so it’s pretty great for killing long road trips…also ben nichols live version of “i’ll just fall” will bring even the toughest men to tears.
2.  68 through west virginia is an amazing highway to drive on a clear day.  it’s such a beautiful state.
3.  a little time in your head on a long drive will do anyone a ton of good, i’m glad i got the chance to clear my head.
we get to the venue and it’s closed so we hit up the panera to steal some internet.  actually got a free coffee from the nice girl behind the counter, which blew me away a little and cheered me up quite a bit.
around eight the venue opened and we got to meet one of the owners shane.  amazing dude, as was everyone that worked there.  they just wanted to make sure we had a good time and felt welcome…they went way above and beyond a couple of times and i can’t thank them enough for it.  also, i got to play the new 2010 golden tee which was beyond awesome for those of you who are as big of a golden tee nerd as i am.
we played ok and set off around 3am on our drive to murfreesboro, nc…
