Day 6: Asylum, Washington DC
well it happened and we got it out of the way. finally had that show where noone comes. it happens…could be the day of the week, could be the town, but you have to take the good with the bad. as an exercise on staying positive, since it’s way to early in the tour to start to grumble, i’ll share some really great things about last night.
1. the asylum and it’s staff were great. awesome place if you’re ever in DC. super welcoming.
2. i got to see my really old friend ian. that felt great.
i know it’s a short list, but we’re only sticking to good stuff. never mind that i broke a string, borrowed dans guitar, then somehow killed his pickup’s 9 volt battery. also, at some point in my set, i stepped on the mic cable for the mic i was using which snapped the mic stand from where it was standing right into my face. no blood but it stung.
today was good. super long drive but it was beautiful. me and the boys listened to my revival tour live bootleg the whole way which will cheer up even the most downtrodden man.
“we push on and we push upwards.”
